Watt describes the unit of measurement of power and is anchored in the international system of units. The name Watt is based on the Scottish scientist James Watt. In electrical engineering, the unit Watt indicates how much electrical energy is converted into light and heat within a certain period of time.

For example, the specification of 60 watts for a light bulb corresponds to a conversion of 60 watt hours (Wh) or 0.06 kilowatt hours (kWh) into light and heat within one hour with constant output.
