Self-consumption describes the proportion of self-produced electricity that the system operator consumes himself. The operator can actively shape this share by carrying out electricity-consuming processes (washing, cooking, charging batteries) when the photovoltaic system produces electricity.

If you have a new refrigerator or freezer, you can also put it into sleep mode at night and only switch it on again when your solar system is bright again. Measures like these increase your own consumption and thus increase the return on your solar project.
